About Us

Lynn Hickox

Lynn has been involved with the health care of women for 12 years. A native of Syracuse, Lynn realized her dream of becoming a nurse in the sixth grade. After graduating from Corcoran High School, she received her basic nursing training at Crouse-Irving Memorial Hospital School of Nursing.  She later received her B.S. of Nursing degree from SUNY at Utica/Rome in 1988.

With a desire to be more involved in direct health care, she entered the Nurse Practitioner Program at Community General Hospital in 1992.  Her interest in women's health grew to involve labor and birth.  In 1995, she continued her education and graduated from SUNY at Stony Brook with a Master of Science degree, specializing in Midwifery in 1997.  She opened Midwifery & Women's Services in July 1997, offering women individualized health care and personalized pregnancy care.

Lynn enjoys reading, playing the piano and singing.  She sings with the Syracuse Chorale, Syracuse Chamber Singers and The Master's Touch Chorale.  "Midwifery is my passion, music is my sanity."

Lynn met her husband Bill through singing.  They reside in East Syracuse with their cat Sweet Stuff.

Diane

Diane, a native of the Buffalo area, attended nursing school at Bellevue Hospital in New York City. She began her nursing career at Albany Medical Center prior to moving to the Liverpool area.

After being a stay-at-home mom until
her two boys were in high school, she returned to nursing and has worked in the field of women's health for 14 years.

Diane enjoys working
with a midwife: "I have a lot of job satisfaction." She enjoys doing craft projects and has made the seasonal wreaths on the front door of the office.

Margaret

Margaret moved to Syracuse in 1985 after growing up and living in the Midwest. She attended Deaconess School of Nursing in St. Louis, Missouri for her Registered Nurse license and has practiced nursing in between raising three children.

She and her husband now have an empty nest, "but
it is never empty — we still have a dog." They enjoy visiting the kids and other family members, who are spread throughout the country. Other interests include church, choir, visiting new places and learning new things.

Margaret participates in volunteer activities in the community and at her church. She enjoys counted cross-stitch (some of her work is hanging in the office) and reading.
